You can create in-text references and a bibliography that can be formatted in the reference style of your choice (Vancouver, APA, Harvard etc).

Once you have created your EndNote library you will be able to insert the references into your Word documents (using the Cite While You Write feature). Note that you will need to change your preference settings for this to work. You can harvest PDFs from the Library collection to go with the references in your library using the Find Full Text function. PDF copies of articles (if they have associated metadata), can be imported into EndNote and used to complete the reference details automatically. When you are searching databases like Medline/PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, PsycINFO or Google Scholar you will be able to export your results to EndNote. The software will help you to keep track of your references and use them in your research and publications. Note: you don't have to have an EndNote desktop account to use the online version it's free to all.Using EndNote is a great way to manage your references. If you're going to be away from your EndNote desktop while writing a paper, you can also download EndNote Online's Cite While You Write plug-in, and you'll still be able to use EndNote to create citations in Word.Whenever you are away from your regular computer, you can add references to EndNote Online, and then sync the two libraries when you're back at your computer. If you try to sync more than one they'll merge into a giant library.)

(Note that you should only sync one desktop library with EndNote online. You'll be prompted to enter your EndNote Online email and password. To do this in EndNote 20, click on Library and then Sync.
